RT-Range software release June 2010

15 June 2010

We have made significant improvements to the RT-Range software and added many useful features. A new software update is now available which will include the following improvements:

Triggered Logging in RT-Range

Logging In the Real-time Display the “Save to RCOM” option now shows a window that controls the logging. The logging can be automatically started and stopped using the trigger input to any of the RTs (either in the hunter vehicle or in the target vehicles).

Instant Lateral Offset Correction in RT-Range

Offset Correction In the Real-time Display the “Quick Config” window can be used to set a lateral offset for range measurements. This works in the same way as the longitudinal offset. The lateral offset can also be set using the RT-Range Configuration wizard. Using the new lateral offset feature of the RT-Range saves a lot of setup time.

Maps in RT-Range Bird’s Eye View

Maps in Bird's Eye View The Bird’s Eye View can display the map that is being used for the line survey together with the position of the hunter and target vehicles. This makes it easier to check that you have the right configuration files loaded into the RT-Range.

Time gap output from RT-Range

Time gap output The RT-Range already computes time to collision but for many applications it is important to know the “time gap” between the vehicles. This is the amount of time it will take for the hunter to get to the current position of the target. The time gap output is computed using the velocity of the hunter and the longitudinal range to the target. The new output is available on the CAN bus, in the Real-time Display and in RT-Range Post-process. Read More »

Lateral velocity to all lines

Lateral velocity The velocities compared to all of the lines in the map are now output by the RT-Range systems. The CAN bus, the Real-time Display and the CSV export all output these values. These can be useful when the RT-Range’s dynamic lane switching algorithms are tracking a different lane to the one that the sensor under test is tracking.

RT-Range and ABD robots

RT-Range and ABD Robot Many people are not yet aware that the RT-Range systems can be used in combination with an ABD robot, or they are not sure about the benefits that this gives. We have compiled a list of features and benefits of using the RT-Range systems together with an ABD robot on our website. People who are combining the ABD in-vehicle robots with the RT-Range are finding it easier to benchmark cars, quicker to obtain repeatable results and creating tests that are not safe for human test drivers.
