Targeted at the survey market, the Inertial+ represents a big move in the Inertial+GPS navigation system market by being very cost-effective. The low price tag does not stop it from being highly accurate though. By combining an Inertial+ with your high accuracy RTK GPS receiver you can achieve 1cm precision, 0.03 degrees roll/pitch accuracy and have low drift rates when GPS is not available.

Aerial surveys with Inertial+

Inertial+ used for aerial survey in Kenya

Scandinavian Laser Surveying ApS of Denmark has just completed a very successful survey of land near Nairobi using an Inertial+ navigation system from OxTS and a Riegl laser scanner. The Inertial+ provided highly accurate position and orientation data during the entire flight.

Inertial+ supports GAMIT GLOBK

Inertial+ supports GAMIT-GLOBK

OxTS has developed a utility for supporting MIT's GAMIT-GLOBK software with the Inertial+ system. GAMIT, GLOBK, and TRACK form a comprehensive suite of programs for analyzing GPS measurements primarily to study crustal deformation. Combining the output of TRACK with the Inertial+ gives customers the option of getting high accuracy GPS when radios cannot be used for real-time corrections.

The RT Inertial and GPS systems are invaluable for assessing the condition of roads. We have many customers who are using our GPS/INS systems in their survey and road profiling vehicles. The RT systems provide accurate position data even in most urban or tree-covered areas. In addition to precise position measurements the RT also measures roll, pitch and heading.
