Inertial+ Software Release August 2010, List of changes
The full changes that have been made to the Inertial+ software for this release include:
The latest GPS receiver to be fully integrated in to the Inertial+ is Topcon’s GB-500. By combining the GB-500 with an Inertial+ you can remove jumps from the position measurements, increase the output data rate and include orientation measurements with your data.
OxTS has released a significant improvement to the wheel speed processing in the Inertial+. This improvement is designed to make the position output of the Inertial+ better in poor conditions where position is still available but it can have large errors on it. Often these conditions occur just before an obstruction, upsetting the Inertial+ just before GNSS position is removed. By improving this situation the drift in tunnels is reduced.
Javad I+RTK relock with Inertial+
Everyone has experienced problems when they drive under bridges and the GPS receiver takes a long time to regain its high accuracy (RTK Integer) position mode. This process is not easy for GPS receivers to solve. Now the Inertial+ can help Javad GPS receivers and speed up the relock time. This new technology offers unparalleled improvements to RTK algorithms in other GPS receivers.
By using the GGA message (with position) and the PASHR message (with heading, pitch and roll) the position and orientation of a photo, at the time it was taken, can be logged into one file. By performing the interpolation in the Inertial+, a lot of mathematics in the external software can be avoided and a lot less data needs to be stored.
By popular request the NMEA GSA and GSV messages are now output by the Inertial+. The GSA and GSV messages help users understand the quality of the position output by GPS receivers.
The Inertial+ now includes an option so the type of output can be changed between ellipsoidal and geoidal measurements or a constant offset can be entered. This option should reduce the confusion over the altitude information that the Inertial+ outputs.
RT-View can now load and display more than one NCOM file at the same time.
Network gateway can be configured in the new Inertial+ systems.
Sometimes the Inertial+ can be used on a large network where the computer running i+config is not necessarily on the same network as the Inertial+. Using special commands, the Inertial+ can be configured to have a gateway so that the configuration software can access the Inertial+ over an Intranet or even the Internet itself.
Some tricks may be required to use this feature as the current release of i+config does not expect the Inertial+ to be on a different subnet. This was found during testing and will be fixed in later versions. In the meantime FTP can be used to write the files to the Inertial+ over the network.
An upgrade is possible for customers on a support contract if they send their system back to us. Unfortunately the upgrade changes the build of the internal operating system and a field upgrade is not possible.
Read settings from an RD file in to i+config
i+config can now load the configuration that was used when the RD file was written. This appears on the front page of i+config. Alternatively right-click the RD file and open with i+config and the configuration from the RD file will be loaded.
Added Ethernet message for camera trigger output
We have added the camera trigger output to the Ethernet options so that an Ethernet message can be generated when the camera trigger activates.
Various fixes include:
Fixed accuracy for odometer in i+config.
Fixed loading the external antenna overall accuracy configuration when the i+config is launched from the RT Post process.
Fix for the output displacement option, which was written correctly to the Inertial+ but not read correctly from the Inertial+.
Fixed the problems with the dual-antenna after resetting the Inertial+2 so that the dual-antenna will start quickly after a soft reset.
Improved installer to try and avoid “reinstallation” problems which occur mainly when both the RT software suite and the Inertial+ software suite are installed on the same computer.
Fixed the advanced settings of the secondary antenna page.
