Inertial+ High accuracy position and orientation
Targeted at the survey market, the Inertial+ represents a big move in the Inertial+GPS navigation system market by being very cost-effective. The low price tag does not stop it from being highly accurate though. By combining an Inertial+ with your high accuracy RTK GPS receiver you can achieve 1cm precision, 0.03 degrees roll/pitch accuracy and have low drift rates when GPS is not available.
Inertial+ aids street imaging company
XLview, a Spanish street imaging company, has successfully tested the Inertial+ navigation system this summer. Since most of the data is collected in cities with very challenging GPS environments, they have chosen the OxTS Inertial+2 system and combined it with their Topcon GPS receiver. The compact, GPS-aided inertial navigation system was able to provide highly accurate position data as well as roll, pitch and heading in order to geo-reference the images. With the Inertial+2 system on board the vehicle, XLview captured some 16,000 images during the tests in Madrid and Aranjuez. To read more, click here...
Combine your GPS receiver with the Inertial+
Over the last couple of years, we have integrated many leading GPS receivers into our Inertial+ system. The latest GPS receiver to be fully integrated in to the Inertial+ navigation system is Topcon’s GB-500. We have also integrated many other receivers from the popular Trimble AgGPS132 and Trimble 5700 to Novatel receivers. By combining your GPS receiver with an Inertial+ system you can remove jumps from the position measurements, increase the output data rate and include orientation measurements with your data. MDL Dynascan uses Inertial+
Mobile scanning takes a huge leap forward with the introduction of the Dynascan from MDL. The Dynascan is a complete scanning solution at a price that opens new markets. At the heart of the Dynascan is an OxTS Inertial+ navigation system, aided by a Trimble GPS receiver. The Inertial+ outputs directly to the Dynascan software using a robust Ethernet connection. A dual-antenna option is available for accurate heading in slow moving applications. Read more...»
Great interest in Inertial+ at Intergeo 2010
OxTS's stand at this year's Intergeo exhibition featured the compact Inertial+ and Inertial+2 systems alongside the flagship RT3000 GPS-aided inertial navigation systems. "Since our first appearance at Intergeo four years ago, we have seen a rapid increase in interest in our products from mapping and surveying companies world-wide", explains Brendan Watts, Sales and Marketing Director at OxTS. "A lot of companies are actively looking for a GPS-aided inertial system which provides stable position and accurate orientation data at a very competitive price. With the Inertial+ systems we are able to close this gap in the market." Read more...
