ABD Steering Robot Configuration
|
The interface for the ABD Steering Robot has been added to the RT3000 configuration software. The RT3000 has been compatible with the ABD Steering Robot for several years now, but previously it required some special changes to the configuration files. Now this can be done using any RT3000. The RT3000 and the ABD Steering Robot communicate using Ethernet. The RT3000 sends a special UDP broadcast message to the ABD Steering Robot. This message includes measurements of Position, Velocity, Acceleration, Angular Rates, Roll, Pitch, Slip Angles, etc. Status information, essential for Autonomous and Path Following functions, is also transmitted. These measurements are captured by the ABD software at the same time as the Steering Robot measurements. The Ethernet connection can be used by any ABD Steering Robots that have the correct Ethernet interface fitted. The measurements are used for Autonomous, Path-Following or simple Steering Input tests. The configuration is simple. To enable the connection simply enter the IP address of the ABD Steering Robot. The default, 195.0.0.100, is included in the drop-down list. By fitting an Ethernet Hub or Switch it is possible to have the robot and a PC connected to the RT3000 at the same time. The RT3000 software can be used in the normal way even when the Steering Robot is connected.
