OxTS works with IDIADA and ABD on ADAS test systems

OxTS, IDIADA and ABD are combining their expertise, their high-technology systems and excellent facilities to provide car manufacturers and suppliers with a complete ADAS testing solution. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) will have a huge impact on the development of new vehicles in the near future and include systems for Collision Avoidance, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Intersection Assistance.

The OxTS RT-Range system is ideal for the accurate measurement of the relative motion between two vehicles and the precise measurement of lane position. The RT-Range systems output all measurements of the ‘Hunter’ and ‘Target’ vehicle in real-time on CAN bus and PC. The position of the vehicle can be measured with up to 2cm accuracy and speed measurements are accurate to 0.05 km/h which is essential for ADAS testing.

Applus+ IDIADA’s best-in-class proving grounds are the ideal place to test and validate ADAS systems. Real-life traffic situations are reproduced where different cars interact with each other. This allows car manufacturers to perform ADAS testing activities in a safe and realistic environment. By controlling the steering, accelerator and brake, the ABD path following robots - combined with the OxTS systems - provide the most repeatable and consistent testing.
