Dual receiver systems get improvement with GLONASS heading calculations

OxTS has improved its GNSS navigation processing so that it can now take advantage of GLONASS signals in the dual antenna heading calculations. Our dual receiver inertial navigation systems like the RT3000, Survey+, and xNAV are able to use GLONASS, which can now also be enabled on the secondary receiver. The benefit of utilising GLONASS on the secondary receiver is that once heading is initialised, there should be significantly more satellites in view meaning the heading solution will be more robust. More satellites means it is easier for the Kalman filter to reject bad updates from multipath effects and refine the heading to achieve the most accurate solution.

These benefits aren’t only available to new customers either. Existing users with dual antenna systems can easily upgrade their INS in the field to take advantage of the new enhancements.
