NAVsuite Spring 2014 software release updates

Software Releases June 18, 2014

The NAVsuite Spring 2014 release is now available for free with new systems and to customers with a support contract. We have added exciting new features to our software suite. Here is a list of all changes (Installer 140708):

NAVconfigNAVconfig improvements

There have been a number of updates to NAVconfig to give the user more customisability and control over their system, and to make setting up your RT as easy as possible. New images have been added to help visualise the orientation of the system in a vehicle. Our algorithms have been improved so that dual antenna separation now only has to be measured to within 5 cm instead of 5 mm, giving users far more leeway with what can sometimes be difficult to measure distances. We have added an extra customisation option for the differential correction settings so users can now select the parity, which adds compatibility with alternate base stations.

   – Support for OEM638 and TopCon B110 GPS as external receivers with Inertial+

The latest update of the Inertial+ now allows customers using NovAtel’s OEM638 products or Topcon’s B110 GNSS receivers to quickly and easily benefit from the precision and reliability of a full GNSS-aided inertial navigation system. The easy integration of these latest generation sensors with the Inertial+ ensures it remains a highly cost-effective but simple solution for customers looking to enhance the performance, flexibility and reliability of their existing GNSS hardware. Read more…

   – SDCM (Russia) and GAGAN (India) regions added in SBAS Options

With this software release, we have added more service areas of satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS) for our customers. In addition to North America (WAAS), Europe (EGNOS) and Japan (MSAS), the new software will allow users in Russia and India to use the SDCM and GAGAN services respectively with their systems. Our OxTS customers can select their SBAS region in the options page of NAVconfig, our convenient user interface for configuring your OxTS GPS-aided inertial navigation system. Read more…

   – Orientation setup display the correct product image
   – Added support for new products: RT & OEM v2, Survey+ L1 and xNAV500 models
   – Secondary antenna distance accuracy default set to 5 cm
   – Selectable Parity settings for Differential in Options
   – 250Hz output can be not be selected for the Serial output rate in Options
   – DGNSS service added in Options with either OmniSTAR or TERRASTAR-D automatically shown for V1 and v2 product respectively

RT-PPRT Post-Process new features

   – Supports multiple RINEX base station files

The latest release of RT Post-process, our free post-processing software, now gives OxTS customers the ability to seamlessly reference multiple RINEX files for each file they post-process. This saves time and reduces the possibility of errors as users would otherwise need to manually join and manipulate files to achieve the same result. The new feature is particularly useful for customers involved in surveying where the distance covered in a single test can be hundreds of kilometres. Customers operating with split RINEX files where a test crosses the UTC midnight boundary, will also benefit as the software automatically selects the correct RINEX data. Read more…

   – gxRTK processing has improved gxRTK inertial relock

A new algorithm called gxRTK inertial relock is helping post-process users regain RTK integer accuracy in as little as 5 seconds after bridges, dense foliage or other obstructions interrupt GPS signals. The algorithm is an extension of our existing gx technology and uses information from the inertial measurement unit to significantly reduce the area that must be searched for a correct RTK integer solution, cutting both the time taken and the computational load. Read more…

   – Supports RT v2, Survey+ L1 and xNAV500 models
   – Improved combining of forwards and backwards processing for smoother trajectories
   – Outputs triggers & events in combined post-processing

EnginuityEnginuity new features

   – Supports RT v2, Survey+ L1 and xNAV500 models
   – Calibration, Status, Field 308 shows TERRASTAR-D mode, Fields 309 to 314 reserved for future TERRASTAR-D status, Field 315 shows product generation

NAVgraphNAVgraph improvements

In keeping with our effort to make NAVgraph the most comprehensive analysis tool, it can now plot which RINEX file is being used at which point in the data set. This allows users to see how RT Post-process switches between files and analyse the performance based on which file is being used. Another update to NAVgraph is the ability to export multiple binary files to a single file. For example, users can now open an RCOM file and view data from their RT-Range, then import the NCOM file from their RT2000 in the Hunter vehicle and create a single file to easily view and analyse the data sets together. The CSV output is now at the raw, high-speed data rate. NAVgraph is becoming the tool of choice for converting our binary formats to text since it supports all the measurements and status outputs from the product.

   – CSV output is now at the raw, high-speed data rate
   – Support multiple binary files export to single XCOM file
   – Support multiple sources files data into one single CSV file
   – Display base station RINEX files used for post processing data
