The OxTS RT GPS-aided inertial navigation systems are used world-wide for demanding vehicle dynamics tests as well as the development of advanced driver assistance systems. We have made significant improvements to the RT software and added many useful features. A new software update is now available for our customers on a support contract.

 

170_125_NTRIPNEW! Achieve RTK accuracy without the need for base-stations

A recent report made available by OxTS highlights that Networked Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol (NTRIP) is a highly-cost effective way for customers to achieve real-time RTK integer accuracy when operating in particularly challenging urban, or large-scale geographic locations. As the ability to receive DGPS corrections via NTRIP has been a standard feature on OxTS sensors for some time, this will be of particular interest to customers that are unable to utilise conventional base-stations—or for automotive customers wishing to evaluate ADAS on the open road. Click here to read…

NEW! NAVgraph data visualisation and analysis – even better

In keeping with our effort to make NAVgraph the most comprehensive analysis tool, it can now plot which RINEX file is being used at which point in the data set. This allows users to see how RT Post-process switches between files and analyse the performance based on which file is being used. Another update to NAVgraph is the ability to export multiple binary files to a single file. For example, users can now open an RCOM file and view data from their RT-Range, including CAN data with the new RT-Range CAN acquisition feature, then import the NCOM file from their RT2000 in the Hunter vehicle and create a single file to easily view and analyse the data sets together.

 

170_125_SBASNEW! More SBAS regions added for users in India and Russia

With this software release, we have added more service areas of satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS) for our customers. In addition to North America (WAAS), Europe (EGNOS) and Japan (MSAS), the new software will allow users in Russia and India to use the SDCM and GAGAN services respectively with their systems. Our OxTS customers can select their SBAS region in the options page of NAVconfig, our convenient user interface for configuring your OxTS GPS-aided inertial navigation system. Read more…

 

 

180_180_NAVgraphswNEW! NAVconfig improvements

There have been a number of updates to NAVconfig to give the user more customisability and control over their system, and to make setting up your RT as easy as possible. New images have been added to help visualise the orientation of the system in a vehicle. Our algorithms have been improved so that dual antenna separation now only has to be measured to within 5 cm instead of 5 mm, giving users far more leeway with what can sometimes be difficult to measure distances. We have added an extra customisation option for the differential correction settings so users can now select the parity, which adds compatibility with alternate base stations.

 

 

170_125_RTv2NEW! Updated RT systems now achieve 1 cm accuracy

OxTS is delighted to announce from June 2014 we will be launching a new generation of RT systems that can achieve 1 cm RTK accuracy both in real-time and post-process instead of the 2 cm accuracy of previous models. Our engineers have realised this improvement without increasing costs, so there is no price increase attached to this improved position accuracy. The change gives the products an even better price/performance ratio, whether they’re linked to our RT-Range system for testing ADAS equipment, or used for complex vehicle dynamics tests. For continuity, the new 2nd generation sensors retain the same product names as before but a v2 suffix will be added to make the distinction clear. All sensors in the RT2000, RT3000 and RT4000 family—except the RT2500s, will be superseded. Read more…

 

 

170_125_GreatWallofChinaNEW! RT Post-process support for multiple base-stations improves productivity
 
The latest release of RT Post-process, our free post-processing software, now gives OxTS customers the ability to seamlessly reference multiple RINEX files for each file they post-process. This saves time and reduces the possibility of errors as users would otherwise need to manually join and manipulate files to achieve the same result. The new feature is particularly useful for customers involved in surveying where the distance covered in a single test can be hundreds of kilometres. With rail survey data for example, RT Post process will maintain the highest possible accuracy by automatically selecting the closest available RINEX file. Customers operating with split RINEX files where a test crosses the UTC midnight boundary, will also benefit as the software automatically selects the correct RINEX data. Read more…

Everyone in our R&D department has worked hard over the last few months to improve our software and to add useful, new features for our customers. We have added support for new SBAS regions, made updates to NAVconfig and NAVgraph, added support for multiple base-station files in our post-processing software, and conducted extensive testing with NTRIP so that our automotive customers can do open road testing with ease.
