OxTS launches summer internship programme

Company News February 15, 2023

OxTS has launched a summer internship programme providing funded opportunities for selected students to work on innovative technology projects. Students will be able to work on projects at OxTS’ premises in Oxfordshire, with the full support of OxTS’ resources and friendly experts on hand.

OxTS engineers

The internships provide students with valuable opportunities to gain work experience and progress their skills

Students gain practical skills, using latest industry tools and equipment that leverage the theoretical knowledge they have been building during their degree studies. Working alongside the OxTS team, students can grow the essential professional and personal skills and qualities they will need to demonstrate for career success. Practical work experience has been proven to make students more marketable to employers once they graduate, and provides students with insights into particular roles to help them decide where they want to work after graduation.

Increased job prospects and other benefits

OxTS has been expanding exponentially over the past few years, and the engineering team regularly welcomes new graduate employees into the team.  Making a good impression as a summer intern can boost students’ CVs above those of other applicants OxTS considers. As the inertial navigation experts since 1998, OxTS also offers great networking opportunities for interns wishing to work in the industry after they graduate.  OxTS was founded by two Oxford graduates who spotted a gap in the market for a land-based inertial navigation system (INS). Their passion for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit remains at the beating heart of OxTS today.  After 25 years of business success, OxTS customers include almost every well-known car manufacturer and many Silicon Valley-based autonomous car developers. The Company has close to 100 employees and a strong commitment to funding research and development. OxTS invests at least 50% of the annual engineering budget in innovation, in its pursuit of ever-better ways to give customers the ability to accurately measure position, time, orientation, and dynamics in all environments.

Application process

Students interested in applying for an OxTS summer internship can use this application form.  The deadline for applying is 31st March 2023, however places are limited and students are advised to apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
