Aerial ISR
application

Aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR)
Enhance mission effectiveness, offer operational flexibility, and reduce risk and cost in your ISR payload.
ISR missions are of critical importance in rescue, security, and defence applications. But the success of those missions relies on an accurate and robust localisation solution for georeferencing the data collected. For systems integrators working on next-gen projects or improvements to existing ISR products, the accuracy and precision of localisation data is a vital differentiator.

Accurate, robust and affordable localisation for ISR payloads.
Fibre optic and ring laser gyroscopes are often used in high-precision applications, but their cost and size can make them a difficult choice to justify for an ISR payload. In addition to the choice of IMU technology, choices also need to be made about how to compensate for drops in GNSS signal, perhaps due to the environment or jamming.

Choose your hardware
Making our technology yours
To create a high-performing ISR payload you need robust localisation data, user-friendly features, and compatibility with georeferencing software. Every OXTS GNSS/INS can be instantly customised for the work you need it to do – whether that’s navigation, georeferencing, or autonomous navigation.

GNSS/INS features for ISR payloads
We suggest the following optional features when building an ISR payload:
- gx/ix tight-coupling – Speeds up RTK reacquisition after transient but complete GNSS outage meaning more accurate navigation data for longer (see example below).
- PTP and gPTP time synchronisation – master and client functionality makes it easier to integrate your GNSS/INS into an existing payload.
- External file logging – log data to an external storage device for longer missions.
- OXTS Georeferencer – use Georeferencer to quickly and easily georeference your point cloud data, and to calibrate your LiDAR and GNSS/INS coordinate frames to remove point cloud blurring and double vision.
gx/ix™ tight-coupling processing
An OXTS INS can integrate single-satellite aiding data into its navigation solution, and reduce the time taken to reacquire RTK lock, in real time. Using NAVSolve, you can reprocess your raw data and still benefit from gx/ix tight-coupling processing.
