Velodyne Lidar is a leading manufacturer of LiDAR sensors.

LiDAR sensors help users create a 3D representation of the world around them. They can be used to map physical structures such as buildings or sign posts and/or vast areas of vegetation.

Businesses throughout the world use Velodyne’s range of LiDAR sensors to extract highly accurate data of their surroundings. This data can be combined with data from an Inertial Navigation System, using software such as OXTS Georeferencer to output highly accurate 3D pointclouds.

The pointclouds can be used in multiple applications to help surveyors gain a greater understanding of their environment.

OXTS and Velodyne

OXTS’ range of survey and mapping specific Inertial Navigation Systems, including the Survey+ v3 and xNAV650 work seamlessly alongside a range of Velodyne LiDAR sensors.

By combining our highly accurate INS data (position, heading, pitch/roll and timing) with raw data from a Velodyne LiDAR sensor users can produce full, accurate 3D representations of the world around them.

By fusing the two sets of data using pointcloud processing software OXTS Georeferencer, surveyors can benefit from: Quicker time to survey, high-quality, repeatable data, more consistent output, and increased ROI.
