OxTS and Hesai
With the release of OxTS Georeferencer v1.2, OxTS announced integrations with a range of new Hesai LiDAR sensors.
By combining data from OxTS Inertial Navigation Systems, including the Survey+ v3 and xNAV650, and users can create highly accurate, georeferenced pointclouds to help them:
- Easily create a full navigation solution
- Speed up survey set-up time
- Increase survey repeatability
- Create high quality, georeferenced pointclouds
Over the coming months new Hesai LiDAR sensors will be integrated with OxTS Georeferencer to provide users a wider choice when it comes to the technology they use to survey their environment.
“We have seen a real spike in interest in Hesai LiDAR integration since we launched version 1.2 of OxTS Georeferencer. We think this is testament to the quality of LiDAR sensors that Hesai supply”

OxTS Georeferencer
Whether you need to create a digital map for autonomous vehicle navigation purposes, or you have a requirement to produce a pointcloud for a survey customer, OxTS Georeferencer can help.
OxTS Georeferencer will take the navigation measurements from any INS, and at the touch of button, georeference the LiDAR data from a range of Hesai sensors enabling quick, simple and accurate, 3D pointcloud creation.
Furthermore, users can use their existing navigation data to boresight their payload using a simple data-driven method.
The data is fused using OxTS Georeferencer and can be viewed in many pointcloud viewer software applications.

OxTS inertial navigation systems provide users with absolute position and highly accurate inertial measurement information. This information allows them to georeference pointclouds from multiple LiDAR sensors.
These measurements help increase survey repeatability, cut down the time to survey, intelligently analyse data, improve final results and increase project ROI.

OxTS Boresight Calibration Brochure
Failure to align the coordinate frames of an INS and LiDAR sensor precisely enough can lead to blurring and double-vision in pointclouds.
OxTS’ experience in calibration techniques has allowed us to develop a data-driven approach to boresighting. The method gives users the ability to calibrate the coordinate frames of their INS and LiDAR to a tenth of a degree in minutes.
